Building Trust for Transition - DBSA LCT CS

This case study examines the role of the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) in supporting and financing community trusts as part of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme. It explores how DBSA’s due diligence and oversight, or absence of it, can significantly impact the success or challenges faced by these trusts. Examples, the study identifies best practices and offers actionable recommendations to improve the sustainability and effectiveness of Local Community Trusts.

FFCSA's DBSA CSO Forum Proposal

In November 2022, the Fair Finance Coalition of Southern Africa was invited to meet with the Board of the Development Bank of Southern Africa for a regular CSO Forum. This was the FFCSA DBSA Forum Proposal to raise and engage on mutual interests. 

The proposal was submitted in April 2023, and while it was not implemented in its entirety, the FFCSA continues to engage the DBSA.
